800-s by the canal

Yesterday the training plan said: 15 min warmup, then 5-6 intervals of 800 m (about 3:36-4:00 mins each) with 2:30 min standing rest between each one, followed by 10 min cool down jog. I did: I knew even before I started that sub-4 min was too fast for me, especially with all the cyclists and dogs and birds all over the towpath. The pace could've been more even, but I don’t really fancy the idea of diving into the canal after colliding with a duck-chasing dog! People look a bit funny when you run past them only to stop mid-stride seconds later, but I wasn’t the only one providing entertainment, there seem to be a healthy bunch of us who like to do our marathon training by the canal... (pic should be pretty self-explanatory, let me know if not!)
