Trainingpain

Is there an English word for soreness after exercise? The Swedish name for it roughly translates as "trainingpain" (in the typical Swedish fashion of just combining two words to make a new one - "fartlek" is another word combo).
 
It's now day 3 and I still walk like Zeb Macahan, walking up stairs is a struggle, I've given up trying to tie my laces and I'd really like to be able to pee standing up.
 
So what is the best thing to do - there are so many theories and not one makes sense right now. Rest - sure, but it still hurts. Stretch - not really, it's hard enough getting the legs to obey when getting up from a chair. Do the same exercise again - ouch! Go for a run - is that really a good idea since I can hardly walk?
 
I feel like such a whimp, all I did was some (well, lots) lunges!
 
What I haven't tried so far is the heat from a sunbed (the tanning shops seem a bit shady - ha!), massage (again, ouch!) or pain killers.
 
Any tips or tricks?
