Missing: a perfectly good weekend
Ran home from work Friday - well, part of the way anyway. 6 k in 37 minutes - 2 minutes faster than last week. Even with a backpack I see room for improvement.
Saturday: bike ride to one of the out of town-shopping malls to look at a new laptop. Not for me - for my mum. Best start worrying...
Then we switched off the lights for Earth Hour. One can be for or against - but a quiet hour with no telly on and lots of candles isn't too bad really.
To top it off the clocks fell forward. For once I remembered both the day and which way to turn the clocks - well, which buttons to press at least, clocks are never turned anymore.
Then came the big computer buying-event. She bought the laptop we'd picked out - never easy to buy even if you know what you're doing! - plus mobile internet. Guess who had to install everything? Yep. The day went, so did the evening, and with it my planned run. Antsy legs for the remainder of the night.
Obviously I couldn't manage to go to bed the appropriate number of hours before waking up-time so today was very very tough. But the day felt shorter, probably because I was still unconcious for the first few hours, and it almost felt like I skived off an hour early. And I didn't have to wear my road cop-style bright yellow reflective jacket as it was still daylight, woo hoo!! 11 k, way faster than was comfortable telking through it all, which I did anyway just to see if I could cope. And I could! I'm clearly kidding myself about my faster pace - if I can talk through 5:36/k-pace after 10 k I can certainly run faster than I think I can. Lesson to learn.
And then there's the trouble of going to bed, again. What am I doing up at this hour when I need my 8 hours + of shut-eye, hmm?
