Of course it was pissing down when I got home from work last night. I didn’t trust the baseball cap to keep the rain out properly so I made dinner instead – my usual diversion. But as soon as all the food had been scoffed and hubby had gone out to buy the final things before packing for a week of skiing in France – without me! WTF?! – I looked outside again to see if the rain gods were still against me. And no they weren’t! I quickly changed into running gear and headed out. Not too clever with a belly full of food, but hey ho.
Left foot complained a bit but I was only going to shuffle a bit anyway so didn’t think much of it. I’d planned to combine two mini routes that both start at our front door but after the first one I suddenly got all dizzy – low blood sugar, I get that sometimes and no, it’s nothing diabetes related apparently – and by the rain had started again and was getting nearer my eyes so I went back in. Baby run – 3.35k.
Today the sun has been out all day and of course I couldn’t keep still! One of my two standard routes takes me to Tower Bridge and back, not as slow as last night but still easy – 7.7k / 6:13-pace, and then some drills. Left foot was a bit perkier, but still not perfect.
If you keep your eyes open while running along the Thames you’ll find little surprises like this:
love the pics! sounds like a fun exploration run. glad your eyes are healing and you are able to run again.
ReplyDeleteCheers! It was, had to fight off a few tourists though ;)
ReplyDeleteThe eyes are almost as good as new, just have to take it a bit easy until I'm allowed to wash them again - I use wipes but it's getting a bit pricey... My legs seem happy again after the marathon so I guess a week of NO running was the way to go!
