Why make it easy?

Over the years I’ve developed a habit of moving house instead of doing a spring (or any other season) clean. And now it’s time again. Despite having only just, well, in November, moved into the lovely Limehouse flat (pics here) we’re about to get going again. This time back to Sweden – third time for me, will it be third time lucky?

Notice has been handed in (to my boss’ horror), hubby who’s already a man of leisure is now a moving coordinator, and a removal van (complete with men who will do it all – wrap, pack, carry, unpack – what a luxury!) is just about booked. It’ll be a tight schedule to say the least: my last day at work is 14 May, fly to Gothenburg 15th, run Göteborgsvarvet on the 16th, fly back 17th, and then the removal guys show up on the 19th or 20th. Then sort out final bits and bobs like getting the deposit back before flying to Sweden to meet up with our stuff on the 24th or so.

We’ll be living in tiny Nyköping to start with, and despite the fact that you could run around the whole town in a bit over an hour even at my tortoise pace there are some things to look forward to. Not quite 20k to my dad’s house, with a lovely hill with wild boar round the corner (I’ve not yet seen any but I’m sure going to try!), a downhill slope (way to short for any kind of skiing but perfect to run up!) plus woods round it about 5k from the flat, and you can take the bike to the Baltic Sea – if you like water the Thames doesn’t really cut it…
