I’m sorry Mizuno, I’ve strayed, and I don’t feel guilty at all.
Adidas had a stand at the Göteborgsvarvet expo where you could try out a pair of mi supernova sequence and pick out stuff like different sizes and width for both feet if needed (I didn’t), summer/winter mesh (I have warm feet so summer it is), sock liner (I went for performance), and of course colours and decoration.
Note the little embroidery on the heel – persistent seemed fitting for some reason…
These are meant to be for long runs, and after today’s maybe not so long one they still felt as light (despite quite a lot of stability and )and comfy as when I put them on, so I’d say they’ll do well in that department.
Compared with my Mizunos they feel a bit more sturdy, but not clumsy. They feel like they have smaller soles than the Mizunos do, but in fact they’re smaller, so they’re built quite differently really. I can’t wait to see how they behave after 20k or so…
Unfortunately I’m told I can’t buy another pair until I’ve retired and thrown out (eek!) at least one pair of shoes, but I think I might just get away with it if I keep them in the laundry basket. I do fancy a pair of spikes, they’re not really shoes are they? I mean – I don’t even own a decent handbag!
you need multiple pairs so you can rotate them and they last longer! :) surely you can sweet talk your way into another pair, or 3.
ReplyDeleteI keep saying that, but other half who doesn't even run if he's about to miss a a plane has no clue why I need 6 pairs. 1 for hills, 1 for speedwork, and another is practically retired anyway - this leaves only 3 pairs, right? ;)
ReplyDeletei love collecting running shoes too! your new ones look girly with a touch of seriousness about them!
ReplyDeleteUC: Such a non-offensive hobby. I also need (I do, don't I?) a pair of track spikes, and for winder I guess a pair with really good grip, but I'm not sure how I'll get away with that :)
ReplyDeleteNot too girly though, the pink was actually the sales guy's idea...
