What to do when not running

I have an annoying little pain/discomfort-like sensation in my left thigh (2 inches above my knee, but nothing when I stretch that area?!) so am trying to be a good girl and staying in. Booriing…

Instead I waste my time on various running-related sites. And of course I’ve ended up on Wiggle.

Look at these babies. I have a pink pair that I love, they’re like socks with grippy soles on. Excellent for muddy hills and since I’m going to spend lots of time off-road this summer I’m really tempted to get a second pair. The pink ones need some rest, no?

Or how about a new pair of “slippers”, aka Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6? I’ve already killed off one pair (Nirvana 3), their successors I never liked (something with the soles on the 4’s, they never felt quite right), but the 5’s are as great as the 3’s. Very very tempting…

Or not. I think I need to retire at least one pair first (or hubby will have a fit). But then I need to run in them. Oh, but I’m supposed to rest. Aargh…

  2. Dave: Ha ha, yes nurture that shoe shopping trait carefully! I have 6 pairs too, and this doesn't include racing or "proper" trail ones so there's certainly room for improvement :) I'm so very very tempted to order...
It's not the IT band, it's right above the kneecap. No idea what it is, or what I've done, but it's better now so will try to be good and not run again too soon. But I want to!
