This past week

The forecast promised sun, but no such luck.

Okay, so the sun IS there somewhere, on the other side of the mountain. But gale force winds are pelting me with bits of ice, making my face hurt, and…

…turning the buff into a half inch-thick sheet of ice, making breathing near impossible and causing the goggles to steam up. I had at this point no sensation left in my nose, and I could certainly not feel that the snot in and under it had frozen solid. Lovely…
But on the bright side – I’ve finally bought myself a helmet, pretty important piece of kit for snowboarders apparently. As well as knee guards and wrist guards, which I already had. Now all I need is something for my bum.

Mmmm… Just me, the board and some lovely white powder.

Minus 27 on the way home, and of course now the sun decides to come out!

  2. Lindsay: I know, it's crazy cold. Much prefer my bed too. Try a half marathon in minus 12 - my plans for Sunday! :)
