mind games

Easy easy easy! (as per the schedule) 6K turned into tiny 4,24K including drills, two small hills and four 100-metre rushes at the end, as prescribed by Charlie's human DD. Still felt easy, but I wasn't motivated at all. I don't know if I wanted to run faster, further or not at all. OK so the sun was a bit too hot (already, and it's still March!), considering I prefer miserable grey and a bit of rain. I wonder how I'll like Paris when it's possibly meant to be 19 degrees and sunny! Guess my brain is blocking out all thoughts about my plans for Sunday... I don't feel anything, no anticipation, no fear, not even excitement about eating proper French pastries, yummy steak frites and suchlike. Suppose this is normal, but it's a bit surreal. Today's outfit. The shorts were ok but not the long sleeves...

  1. right then....start to picture the day...you're LOVING running in the warm sun..a great feeling...you see yourself loving the feeling of running the last 6 miles feeling strong and ....best of all you see yourself coming through the finish line with a big smile on your face (in anticipation of a plate of guilt-free steak frites ;) ) so...get a grip..said in the nicest possible way!

  2. Charlie says... ;) OK, I'm visualising. Yep, can see the people and the cheering and the finish with me running across the mat, but "the last 6 miles" sounds a bit far, haha. Still hoping for a bit of rain though. I'm already looking forward to the pint(s) that goes with the steak!!!
Oh and I'll have to smile on the finish line as they film you and then send you DVD proof of how you looked! I'll probably cry like I did after my first half...
