Despite everything being just about right I did notice that I haven't run for two weeks, but I don't care. I won't push myself, I'll run the way my body tells me to. It's too late for any changes or extra sessions now anyway...

Vanilla
Today's run wasn't going to follow any plans or thoughts, just get on my shoes (listening to ancient U2 at the moment) and go. Every time I'd looked out the window today I'd seen loads of runners (yeah yeah, credit crunch is upon us, but does no one work?!) so I long and fast both sounded appealing, but not necessarily at the same time.
Weather was almost perfect, the audio book exciting enough, just the right combo of clothes (capris, long sleeves and of course the old baseball cap), the shoes were as good as they've been so far, and no traffic. Even the throat behaved!
I ran at roughly the pace I plan to do in Paris and it felt good all the way, but the pulse graph surprised me a little. Apart from the usual spike in the beginning I don't think I've never had a pulse this even! (the dip at 8 mins is when I had to adjust the headphones and walked for maybe 15 metres)
Despite everything being just about right I did notice that I haven't run for two weeks, but I don't care. I won't push myself, I'll run the way my body tells me to. It's too late for any changes or extra sessions now anyway...

you sound like you've got it bob on..running at your desired marathon pace. and yes everything is in the bag now.
ReplyDeletebtw if you want wildlife, why not run round regents park zoo;)
Only for a 5th of the distance though. But it's a comfy pace, I should be able to keep it up for a while - it's seen me through a half marathon already!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, the zoo, had forgotten about that :) Not so wild though. Unless you mean the nasty geese?!
